Firefighters in Bethpage were called at around 1:40 p.m. with reports of a fire at St. Isidoros Greek Orthodox Church, located near the intersection of Stewart and Cherry avenues. Three people were taken to a hospital after a fire broke out at a Long Island home. Police reported that the incident happened in Farmingdale at about 7 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24. Officers responded to a fire at a house on West Oak Street and saw flames coming from the second floor, the Nassau County Police Department reported. Multiple crews responded to a fire that destroyed a Long Island home and caused smoke damage to two neighboring homes. The fire broke out at a house on Clearwater Avenue in Massapequa at about 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, according to the Nassau County Police Department. Long Island Fire Departments Issue Alert On Donation Scams
Long Island fire departments are warning the public about a scam from a donation mailer they have no affiliation with. The South Farmingdale Fire Department said on Facebook the letter from the Volunteer Firefighter Alliance Charity recently went out to residents in Nassau County. The letter, from the Volunteer Firefighter Alliance Inc., asks for donations to support an annual fund drive for firefighters but, the department said they are not affiliated with the organization. Man Suffers Burn Injuries After Long Island House Fire Breaks Out
An occupant of a Long Island home suffered burn injuries after a house fire broke out. Emergency responders rushed to the scene around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8 on Grant Street in South Farmingdale, where the house was fully engulfed in flames, Nassau County Police said. A pair of Long Island residents were hospitalized when an early morning fire broke out in Massapequa. First responders were dispatched to a Michele Terrace home in Massapequa at approximately 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, where there was a report of a house fire.
