Copiague 13-Year-Old Accused Of Posting Threat To School On Social Media
A Long Island student has been arrested for allegedly posting a school threat on social media. The incident took place in Copiague on Monday, Oct. 24. According to Suffolk County Police, a 13-year-old Copiague Middle School student posted in a social media group chat that if the school was in session on Oct/ 24, he would shoot teachers and students. Alarms were sounding among some school districts in New York amid threats being made on social media as part of what is seemingly a national scheme. Social Media Threat Causes Closure Of LIU Campuses
All Long Island University campuses will be closed on Thursday, Aug. 8 due to an unspecified social media threat. "Yesterday, the FBI advised the university of a non-specific threat that they do not deem credible," the university said in a statement.
