'Persistent Violent Felony Offender': Babylon Man On Parole Admits To Home Burglary, DA Says
A Long Island man faces significant jail time after admitting to burglarizing a home while on parole, District Attorney officials said. On Wednesday, May 4, Jose Osorio of Babylon broke into a home in Babylon through a basement window and stole multiple items, including a key fob for a vehicle, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney. Because the key fob had an Apple air tag attached to it, police were able to track it down to Osorio's address, which identified him as a suspect, Tierney said. A 33-year-old man is accused of attacking an employee of a Long Island dry cleaners, causing injuries that sent the victim to the hospital. James Orfanos was arrested for assaulting an employee at Alpian Cleaners, located at 4 Welwyn Road in Great Neck Plaza, at about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, the Nassau County Police Department said. Man Enters Long Island Home Through Unlocked Door, Threatens Resident, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested after police said he entered a home and threatened one of the residents. The Nassau County Police Department reported that on Wednesday, July 14, at about 9:20 p.m., Shawn Paprocki, age 42, of Baldwin, entered the home in Oceanside through an unlocked door. Police said a 54-year-old man who lives in the home confronted Paprocki, and Paprocki began threatening him. A suspect has been nabbed in connection to a string of residential burglaries on Long Island. Nassau County Police officers responded to a Hicksville residence on Mead Avenue for a burglary that just occurred around 2:45 p.m. Saturday, April 10. A Long Island robbery suspect is on the run and police are asking the public's help in locating him. The Nassau County Police Department has issued an alert for the wanted man from Roosevelt who allegedly was caught on camera breaking into an area home last year before barricading himself inside, police said.
