Man Steals Food Delivery Driver's Car At Long Island Motel, Police Say A real-life Grinch is wanted by police investigators on Long Island after allegedly stealing a delivery driver’s car at an area hotel on Christmas Day. A hooded man in an orange ski jacket and yellow gloves allegedly stole a 2013 Honda Accord from the 112 Motel on Route 112 in Medford at approximately 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, Suffolk County Police said. At the time of the alleged theft, the owner of the car was making a food delivery at the motel. Man Struck, Killed By SUV On Long Island A man was killed after being struck by an SUV on Long Island. It happened around 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 in Coram, Suffolk County Police said. The victim, Martin Tiess, 57, of Mount Sinai, was walking with a bicycle on northbound Route 112 when he was struck by a northbound 2001 Suburban, according to police.  Tiess was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The driver of the Suburban, Troy Norr, 50, of Manorville, and a female passenger were not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. …

The first incident occurred at the intersection of Route 110 and Conklin Avenue, East in Farmingdale at approximately 10:45 p.m. Fredy Leonel Maldonado, 42, of West Babylon, was crossing Route 110 from east to west at the intersection of Conklin Avenue when he was struck by a southbound 2017 Dodge RAM 1500, Suffolk County Police said.  The driver of the Dodge, a 29-year-old North Massapequa man, called 911 and attempted to render first aid to Maldonado, according to police.
