An elderly woman is hospitalized with serious injuries after being rescued from a house fire on Long Island. Fire crews were called at around 8:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, with reports of a Roosevelt home engulfed in flames on East Raymond Avenue near Nassau Road. A woman is facing multiple charges after police said she drove while intoxicated with two children in the vehicle and crashed into a parked tow truck on Long Island. The crash happened in Roosevelt at Babylon Turnpike and Cumberland Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, according to the Nassau County Police Department. A 19-year-old who works for a tree removal company was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a falling tree limb on Long Island. The incident happened in Roosevelt at about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12, the Nassau County Police Department reported. A Long Island man has been charged after authorities said he assaulted a police officer while resisting arrest. The Nassau County Police Department said officers responded to a home in Roosevelt on Eddy Road around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, July 10. Investigators reportedly determined that Bernard Norwood, age 37, of Roosevelt, had assaulted a female victim, whose age was not released. A woman was killed in a fiery, single-vehicle crash on Long Island. It happened on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 4:10 p.m. in Roosevelt. While traveling westbound in a 2020 Toyota Rav4 on Hudson Avenue, between Elysian Terrace and North Long Beach Avenue, an unidentified female operator left the roadway and struck a tree, Nassau County Police said.
