One Killed, Five Hospitalized After Long Island Crash Involving Drunk Driver, Police Say One person was killed and five others were hospitalized after a two-car crash involving a drunk driver overnight on Long Island, police said. It happened just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 in Islip. Driver, Michael Lupo, age 23, of North Babylon, was traveling southbound on the Robert Moses Causeway in a Dodge Charger when it collided with a Ford Focus, causing the Dodge to overturn, according to state police. New York State Police said the crash happened in the Suffolk County Town of Babylon at about 10:40 p.m. on Sept. 6, 2020. A vehicle left the scene after hitting a motorcycle, State Police said. Police said it happened on the Ocean Parkway eastbound, west of the Robert Moses Causeway, near Cedar Beach. It happened on Saturday, Sept. 6 at around 10:40 p.m., in Suffolk County just west of Robert Moses Causeway in Babylon. A preliminary investigation revealed that the collision occurred when a 2012 BMW motorcycle traveling eastbound struck the rear of an unknown vehicle that subsequently left the scene, state police said.  The impact caused the operator of the motorcycle, Mauricio Acosta, of Deer Park, to be ejected, according to state police. East Northport resident Daniel Lugo, 43, was driving southbound on the Causeway shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 in West Islip, when he lost control and crashed into the wooded shoulder area near exit RM2W (27A/West Babylon).
