Drunk Driver Leaves Scene Of Long Island Crash That Injures Pedestrian, Police Say A Long Island man driving drunk left the scene of an accident following a crash that injured a pedestrian, according to police. It happened on Sunday, Nov. 3 at approximately 12:20 a.m. in Centereach. Robert Bickmeyer, 60, of East Patchogue, was driving a 2006 Nissan eastbound on Portion Road, at the intersection of Avenue B, when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the bicycle lane, Suffolk County Police said.
