Charged For Role In Capitol Riot
A retired NYPD officer from Queens is the latest to be charged for her participation in the deadly riots at the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6. A retired New York City firefighter from Long Island who photographed himself inside the U.S. Capitol during the deadly pro-Trump riot earlier this month is facing criminal charges for his role in the insurrection, officials announced. Four Arrested, Two Police Officers Injured During Large Gathering At Long Island Park
Two police officers were assaulted and hospitalized overnight attempting to break up a large gathering at a Long Island park. Suffolk County Police officers responded to Ross Memorial Park in Brentwood at approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, where there were reports of a large group in the area. Ten people were arrested after they allegedly attacked police officers attempting to break up a large street party, sending four to the hospital. Nassau County Police said the incident took place around 9:50 p.m., Sunday, May 17, in Baldwin. Riot At West Babylon Festival Leads To Teen's Stabbing
An 18-year-old Wyandanch man was stabbed during a riot of about 12 people during a festival in West Babylon. The incident took place around 8:45 p.m., Sunday, June 9, during St. Anthony's Feast when more than a dozen people got into a fight on East Little Neck Road, said the Suffolk County Police. The teen was stabbed in the abdomen and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip for treatment of non-life threatening injuries police.
