New Report Reveals Best Sandwich Served In New York Reader's Digest has revealed its selection for New York's best sandwich in a brand-new report. The publication released its picks for the best sandwiches in all 50 states on Wednesday, Aug. 24. New York's best sandwich is the pastrami on rye, made with spicy brown mustard, the news outlet said.  Some other highlights in the ranking include the lobster roll in Maine, the cheesesteak in Pennsylvania, and the bison burger in Wyoming. According to 24/7 Wall St., Seneca Falls, located in Seneca County about 50 miles west of Syracuse, is the best winter destination in New York. The website created a list of the best winter destinations in all 50 states based on a variety of reports from other sites, including National Geographic and Reader's Digest. Northern Westchester Native Gavin MacLeod, ‘Mary Tyler Moore,’ ‘Love Boat’ Actor, Dies Native NewYorker Gavin MacLeod, a popular actor on two of the biggest television hit shows of the 1970s and '80s, has died. MacLeod, who was born in Northern Westchester County, in Mount Kisco, as Allan George See and raised in Pleasantville, was age 90.  He died at his home in Palm Desert, California, after having recent health issues, his family said.
