A Long Island man is accused in a stabbing attack near an Albany college that killed a 24-year-old man and injured a second victim.
Fabian Martinez-Reyes, 20, of Port Jefferson, was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 26, by Albany Police and members of the US Marshals Task Force, the agency said.
It came months after emergency crews in Albany were called about a stabbing near Washington Avenue and Quail Street, one block from the UAlbany campus, at around 3:40 a.m. on June 3, 2024.

Three people were seriously injured in a fiery crash on Long Island.
The crash occurred at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, when a 2017 Kia Sportage veered off Cliff Road in the village of Belle Terre, struck a tree, and caught fire, according to Suffolk County Police said.

Alexander Castillo, age 26, of the Bronx, was formally indicted on attempted murder and other charges in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, March 15, stemming from the attack that occurred in Port Jefferson in December 2022.

An investigation into a string of burglaries of Dunkin' locations on Long Island led to charges for three people.
Two people broke into Dunkin', located at 1105 Horseblock Road in Farmingville, at about 3:40 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, the Suffolk County Police Department reported.
They stole cash and left the scene in a waiting vehicle, which detectives pulled over a short time later, SCPD said.
Police arrested the driver, identified as 54-year-old Michael Gruber, and the passengers, 51-year-old Kristen Osmolia and 44-year-old Christopher Volpe, authorities reported.

A man was arrested for allegedly punching another man in the face for taking too long in line at a Connecticut Dunkin' Donuts.
The incident took place in New Haven County around 9:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 17, at the shop in Milford.

Police on Long Island are asking the public for help identifying two men wanted for allegedly stealing wallets and cash from unlocked cars.
The incidents took place in June in Suffolk County in the Setauket, Terryville, Stony Brook, and Port Jefferson areas.
