Cop-Impersonator Handcuffs Woman At Long Island Deli, Police Say A man is accused of handcuffing a woman while impersonating a police officer at a Long Island business. The incident happened in Roosevelt, at the Ruby Deli on Nassau Road, at around 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. Nassau County Police said two women were having an argument when one woman’s boyfriend, 57-year-old Leonardo Argueta, approached and identified himself as an undercover police detective. He then put the other woman in handcuffs, police said. When the victim and bystanders threatened to call 911, Argueta removed the handcuffs and fled the scene. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 1 at 9 a.m. in Garden City Park. Alif Chowdhury, aged 33, approached a 44-year-old woman walking on Fourth Street with a badge, claiming he was a police officer. Chowdhury reportedly began yelling at the woman, then grabbed the phone out of her hand and attempted to restrain her. The woman was able to flee the scene and contacted the authorities.
