Long Island Man Dies After Driving Off Dock In Port Jefferson A man pulled from the water was pronounced dead after authorities say he drove off a dock on Long Island. The incident happened around 7:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 in Port Jefferson. He was operating a vehicle on West Broadway at the Port Jeff dock when he suffered an apparent medical emergency and drove into the water, Suffolk County Police said. The man has been identified as Stuart Dorfman, age 74, of Plainview, according to police. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.

It happened just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 in Nassau County. An occupied 1999 Ford Explorer was stopped in the westbound HOV lane at Exit 48 in Plainview when the vehicle's rear was struck by a 2018 Kia Sportage travelling in the same direction, Nassau County Police said.  Upon impact the 1999 Ford Explorer caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames, said police. Suspect At Large After Burglary At Plainview Gas Station Police are investigating a burglary at a Long Island gas station. It happened between Friday, Sept. 23, and Saturday, Sept. 24, in Plainview, Nassau County Police said. An unknown person entered the Mobil station at 220 Manetto Hill Road and removed an unknown amount of US currency, cigarette cartons and Lottery tickets, said police.  The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
