Brian Ilg, of Patchogue, died Sunday, Jan. 8, at age 17, according to his obituary. It marked the end of what relatives described as a “long and painful” journey that the teen “handled with strength, bravery, and a sense of humor.” Ilg was born May 20, 2005 and was diagnosed with a severe form of epidermolysis bullosa, more commonly known as butterfly disease. Christopher Coluccio, age 14, of West Sayville, was found next to the tracks near the Patchogue LIRR station around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, MTA officials said Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
