Emergency crews were called at around 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 for a collapse at a property in Smithtown, located in the village of Head of the Harbor on Piper Lane. Man Killed By Falling Tree In Northern Westchester A man has died after a tree fell on him while he was working in Northern Westchester. The unidentified 61-year-old was killed around 9 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 14, on Farm Walk Road in Yorktown, police said. When officers and EMS arrived on the scene, they found the man in the backyard of the resident, unconscious not breathing after the tree fell on top of him, according to the Yorktown Police. The incident happened in Suffolk County on Monday, Jan. 18 at around 3:40 p.m. Hector Aranda-Sanchez, age 27, of Peekskill, an employee of a Yonkers-based roofing company, was on the roof of Four Seasons Sunrooms and Windows, located at 5005 Veterans Memorial Highway in Holbrook, when he fell from the roof, police said. The accident happened on Saturday, July 13 in Ridge. Efran Veliz-Alverado was in a work vehicle at RFC Residential Fences Corp., located at 1775 Middle Country Road, and began backing the vehicle into a parking spot when Mark Craparo walked into the yard and was struck by the truck at 10:45 a.m., Suffolk County Police said.
