A Long Island man angered over an impending breakup shot his girlfriend to death inside her penthouse apartment, a jury found.
Mark Small, age 57, of Elmont, was found guilty of murder and related charges in Nassau County Court on Thursday, Sept. 26, in the death of 39-year-old Marivel Estevez.
Prosecutors said Small entered Estevez’s penthouse apartment at the Allure Mineola apartment complex on Old Country Road sometime overnight on July 28, 2022.

After Probation Meeting, Man Steals Delivery Driver's Car Outside LI Restaurant, Police Say
A man on probation and three juveniles are facing charges after allegedly stealing a delivery driver’s car outside a Long Island restaurant.
The theft occurred at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, in Mineola, outside of Riko’s Pizza on Old Country Road, according to Nassau County Police.
Investigators said the delivery driver left his 2019 Toyota Camry unlocked with the keys inside.
At around the same time, 19-year-old Alix Dupre, of Elmont, was leaving a scheduled probation appointment near the Nassau County Supreme Court building, roughly a block away.

A Long Island man wanted for carjacking a woman while she was sitting in her vehicle has been captured by police.
Patrick Blaszkiewicz, 33, address unknown, who was wanted for the Wednesday, Dec. 9 incident in Mineola, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 17, after being spotted by Garden City Police Department driving the stolen vehicle, said the Nassau County Police.
When Garden City officers attempted to conduct a car stop Blaszkiewicz refused to comply. Blaszkiewicz was involved in a minor auto accident while fleeing the police.

Police are asking the public for help locating a man who allegedly stole a vehicle from a woman on Long Island.
The incident took place around 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, in Mineola, when according to detectives, the 62-year-old woman was sitting in her blue 2019 Cadillac SUV in front of 250 Old Country Road when she was approached by a male demanding she exit the vehicle, Nassau County Police said.

It happened just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 in Mineola.
