It happened on Monday, Jan. 8 in Oceanside. According to Nassau County Police, a car in the parking lot of the Sands Shopping Center, located at 3577 Long Beach Road, burst out into flames just before 4:30 p.m. By the time officials arrived at the scene, the fire had spread to four other cars, engulfing all of them. 3 Evacuated From Burning Residential Building In Oceanside Three occupants of a Long Island residential building were evacuated after a blaze broke out early in the morning. A Nassau County Police officer saw was on routine patrol in Oceanside and saw smoke coming from the corner of a building on Oceanside Road at about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, NCPD reported. Police said the officer knocked on the front door of the home and helped the three occupants who were in the process of evacuating. Two Teen Jet Skiers Rescued In Oceanside Two jet skiers were rescued by a quick-moving team of emergency responders on Long Island. At 7: 17 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, a report came in of two teenage boys stranded in the marsh area on their jet skis near Parsonage Cove in Oceanside, according to Nassau County Police. One of the teens, 17, was close to the shore and assisted by a civilian prior to police arrival.
