Two people were hospitalized, including a girl who suffered severe injuries, after a crash at a Long Island intersection.
It happened on Thursday, Oct. 31, at around 6:15 p.m., in Ronkonkoma.
A 30-year-old man was driving a 2018 Honda Civic southbound on Ocean Avenue when the vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing the road westbound near Ontario Street, according to Suffolk County Police.
The pedestrian, a 15-year-old girl from Ronkonkoma, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

Deadly Hit-Run: Drunk, High 24-Year-Old Admits To Long Island Crash That Killed Woman
A 24-year-old man is facing years in prison for hitting and killing a Long Island woman while driving drunk and high on marijuana.
Wade Gagliano, of Ronkonkoma, pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Nov. 30, in the death of Adrienne Wagner.
According to prosecutors, Gagliano was driving an SUV westbound on Johnson Avenue near Ocean Avenue in Ronkonkoma when he struck Wagner at around 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 14, 2022, as she crossed the street.
Wagner, age 67, of Ronkonkoma, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Long Island Woman Driving Drunk Crashes Into Patrol Vehicle, Police Say
A Long Island woman has been accused of driving while intoxicated after allegedly slamming into a police car that was stopped at a crash site with its emergency lights on.
Danielle Schimmel was arrested around 10:36 p.m., Thursday, July 15, following the crash in Ronkonkoma, said the Suffolk County Police.
According to police, Schimmel, age 27, was driving a 2019 GMC Adacia northbound on Ocean Avenue, when she crashed the vehicle into a parked patrol car facing east that was blocking traffic with emergency lights activated, at the scene of an earlier motor vehicle crash.

Long Island Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Drunk Driver
A pedestrian was killed after being struck outside his residence by a Labor Day drunk driver on Long Island, police say.
The crash happened around 11:40 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2 in Ronkonkoma, Suffolk County Police said.
Eric Lindemann, 33, of Holbrook, was driving a 2018 Kia southbound on Ocean Avenue when he veered off the roadway and onto the shoulder, striking Amanullah Aman, 64, outside of his residence, located on Ocean Avenue, according to police.
Aman was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
