Family Of 4 Rescued Off Capsized Boat In Long Island Sound A family of four was rescued from a capsized boat on the Long Island Sound within just minutes of their call for help. The incident took place in Northport around 8:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 28. Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers rescued the Brentwood family after receiving a 911 call from a 17-year-old saying he and his family were on a boat taking on water in the Long Island Sound. The crash happened Saturday, Jan. 21 at 6:40 p.m. in East Northport when a 2021 Hyundai struck the rear of a 2020 Mazda on Elwood Road, at the intersection of Pulaski Road, Suffolk County Police said. It was determined that the driver of the Hyundai was intoxicated and his 11-month-old daughter was a passenger in the vehicle, police said.
