Suspect Nabbed After String Of Business, Home Burglaries In Nassau County A suspect has been apprehended after a string of business and home burglaries on Long Island. The incidents happened between Friday, Dec. 29, and  Wednesday, Jan. 13 at five locations in Nassau County. The suspect, Marc Gagliano, age 39, of North New Hyde Park, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 13, Nassau County Police said. 26-Year-Old Killed In Nassau County Crash An investigation is underway after a 26-year-old died in a crash on Long Island. The single-vehicle crash happened in East Meadow at 2:20 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, according to the Nassau County Police Department. NCPD said the man was riding his 2012 Harley Davidson west on North Jerusalem Road when the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a pole near the intersection of North Jerusalem Road and Shakespeare Place. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police have not yet released his identity.  This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

More Than 150 Evacuated After Fire At East Meadow Summer Camp More than 150 children and counselors were forced to safely evacuate a Long Island nursery school after it caught fire in East Meadow. Big Chief Nursery School and Camp caught fire at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, on North Jerusalem Road near the intersection of Newbridge Road. Each of the campers and the counselors were able to evacuate the building safely before first responders arrived.
