Boy Critically Injured After Being Hit By Car In North Amityville A boy suffered severe injuries in an overnight Long Island crash. It happened around 9:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in North Amityville. The 17-year-old was walking westbound across New Highway at the intersection of Pine Road when he was struck by a 2007 Toyota Prius traveling southbound, according to Suffolk County Police. The boy, a resident of North Amityville, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip with critical injuries.  The driver of the Toyota, a 45-year-old Brentwood woman, was not injured.  Detectives are asking anyon…

Fatal Crash: 43-Year-Old From Copiague ID'd As Victim In 2-Vehicle North Amityville Collision Police are investigating a fatal crash on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened in North Amityville around 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18. The victim was riding a 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on New Highway when he struck a southbound 2021 Dodge ProMaster van, driven by a 38-year-old Copiague resident who was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Albany Avenue, Suffolk County Police said.
