Fatal House Fire: 62-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Nesconset A Long Island resident was killed in a house fire. The blaze broke out around 5:25 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in Nesconset. First responders rushed to the scene at Highland Place after a 911 call. Thomas Walz, age 62, a resident of the home, was taken out of the house by responders.  Walz was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  There were no other people in the house at the time of the fire, and no other injuries were reported.
