Police are searching for a man who they say stole $18,000 worth of euros from a car while it was parked at a Long Island diner.
On Friday, June 30, the victim, a 38-year-old man, went to a bank in New Hyde Park to exchange $18,500 for approximately 16,959 euros, according to the Nassau County Police.
After leaving the bank, the victim put the money inside the glove box of his Nissan Altima and drove to the Williston Diner, located at 112 Hillside Avenue.

$3,000 Boutique Burglary: Trio Swipes Cash, Clothing From Long Island Shop
Police are searching for a group of three that broke into a Long Island thrift store and stole thousands of dollars worth of cash and clothing.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 4 at 3 p.m. in Westbury, according to Nassau County Police.
Three men entered Canny Thrift Shop, located at 191 Post Avenue, and went downstairs, where a second vintage clothing boutique is located.
Though the boutique was closed, police reported that the trio entered the boutique and stole $1,000 cash and another $2,000 in assorted clothing.

$17,000 Bank Fraud Scam Targets Long Island Man
A Long Island man was the victim of a bank fraud scam that cost him nearly $17,000, according to police.
On Tuesday, May 9, a 44-year-old Flower Hill man attempted to purchase an item online, the Nassau County Police Department reported.
However, the website asked the man to provide personal information, and he soon canceled the purchasing process as it made him uncomfortable.
The next day, the victim received a call from an unknown man claiming he was a Bank of America Fraud Specialist, police said.
