Cessna Makes Emergency Landing On Cedar Beach In Mt. Sinai It wasn’t exactly the runway he was hoping for, but a pilot still managed to land his small plane safely on a Long Island beach. Emergency crews were called at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, after a single-engine Cessna plane made an emergency landing on Cedar Beach in Mt. Sinai. Suffolk County Police said the aircraft suffered a power failure mid-flight and the 60-year-old male pilot was forced to put it down on the sand. The plane landed safely and neither the pilot nor his 59-year-old female passenger was injured. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating.

Sinai. Police say a man, pictured above, spray-painted graffiti on the rear door and loading dock at Sav-On Printing Inc. (598 Route 25A) the morning of Wednesday, June 26. The graffiti reads “WAKR” in silver metallic spray paint, according to police. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to an arrest.
