Human Remains Found Behind Lowe's Store In East Garden City An investigation is underway after human remains were found behind a Long Island Lowe's store. Nassau County Police received a 911 call at around 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, reporting possible remains in the wooded area in East Garden City, in the rear of 700 Dibblee Drive, near the Meadowbrook Parkway.  Upon arrival, officers noticed an abandoned encampment and discovered human remains.  The Nassau County PD Homicide Squad and the Medical Examiner responded to the scene.  The body was removed from the scene and brought to the Medical Examiner’s office for further examination.…

Man Struck By SUV While Walking On Road In Nassau County A 57-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by an SUV while walking on a Long Island road. The crash happened in East Garden City at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, according to the Nassau County Police Department. Investigators said a man was walking on Stewart Avenue near the entrance to Meadowbrook Parkway and was struck by a silver Ford SUV that was traveling east, NCPD reported. Nassau County Police say the discovery was made around 9 a.m.on Tuesday, July 20 on the Meadowbrook Parkway in Uniondale. According to detectives, the skeletal remains of a human body were located in a wooded area on the west side of the parkway.  The investigation is ongoing. This is a developing story. The murder of James Graham, 37, took place on Saturday, Dec. 14, in Freeport during the early morning hours, said the Nassau County Police.
