Two MS-13 Members Admit To Uniondale Machete Murder
Two MS-13 members from Long Island have pleaded guilty to the 2017 machete murder of a man whose body was found in a wooded area a year later.
Luis Alejandro Varela, age 24, of Mineola, and William Reyes-Fuentes, age 27, from Uniondale, pleaded guilty Friday, June 24, for the August 2017 machete murder of Carlos Rivas-Majano, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly on Monday, June 27.
Both were charged with murder and conspiracy and face 20 years to life in prison, the DA's Office said.

Long Island Woman Sentenced In DWI Crash That Killed Woman, Injured Child
A Long Island woman was sentenced for driving while intoxicated and crashing into another vehicle, killing a mother, and injuring her 8-year-old son.
Nicole Pollock, age 28, of Freeport, was sentenced on Wednesday, Sept. 22, to six to 18 years in prison in the February 2020 crash, according to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.
Pollock pleaded guilty to the following charges on Wednesday, June 16:
Aggravated vehicular homicide
Second-degree manslaughter
Second-degree assault
Third-degree assault

Woman Killed, Child Injured In Meadowbrook Parkway Crash Involving Drunk Driver, Police Say
A woman was killed and a child injured in an overnight crash involving a drunk driver on the Meadowbrook Parkway, police said.
It happened just after midnight on Sunday, Feb. 2 north of exit M7 in Hempstead.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the collision occurred when a 2012 Nissan Rogue traveling northbound struck the rear of a 2006 Kia, state police said.
The impact caused the Kia to leave the roadway onto the right shoulder before striking a tree, according to police.
