Police Identify Massapequa Woman Who Was Fatally Stabbed Police have identified a 29-year-old Long Island woman who was fatally stabbed over the weekend. Irene Spantopanagos, of Massapequa, was identified as the woman who died at the hospital following a stabbing that took place on Saturday, March 12, according to the Nassau County Police Department. One Killed In Long Island Expressway Crash In Suffolk County Police are investigating a fatal overnight crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened around 7:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28 in Islandia. Carlo M. Guercia, 46, of Massapequa, was on foot in the HOV lane of the westbound expressway, near exit 58, when he was struck by a 2019 Honda Odyssey, Suffolk County Police said. Guercia was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, according to police.  The driver of the Honda, a 41-year-old Williston Park man, was not injured. Long Island Pellet Gun Shootings Could Be Related To TikTok Challenge Police on Long Island are investigating whether a series of pellet gun shootings that injured at least one young girl are related to a TikTok challenge.  In the challenge, people are encouraged to fire soluble gel beads from airsoft guns at pedestrians and other vehicles on the roadway. On Long Island, there have been at least six incidents of people being shot at with pellet guns, law enforcement officials confirmed. Paul Carey, age 62, of Massapequa, was arrested in an incident that happened at 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
