Thomas Horton, 55, of Manorville, was operating a 1996 Yamaha northbound on Centerport Road, near Blenheim Lane, when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed, Suffolk County Police said. Man Struck, Killed By SUV On Long Island A man was killed after being struck by an SUV on Long Island. It happened around 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 in Coram, Suffolk County Police said. The victim, Martin Tiess, 57, of Mount Sinai, was walking with a bicycle on northbound Route 112 when he was struck by a northbound 2001 Suburban, according to police.  Tiess was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
