The incident happened just before 4 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Outer Beach at Smith Point County Park in Shirley when good Samaritans pulled the unresponsive man from the water.  The man was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead. Toddler Pulled Unresponsive From Swimming Pool In Deer Park A toddler was found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a Long Island home. The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Sunday, July 7, in Deer Park. The child, a 2-year-old boy, was pulled from the pool, and first responders began CPR upon arriving on the scene. The boy was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip and later moved to Stony Brook University Hospital in stable condition.
