A high school teacher in New York who had to be escorted out of class last week due to “disturbing allegations” is no longer working for the district on Long Island, officials announced. The Babylon Board of Education in Suffolk County announced that the unnamed school employee has resigned after reaching an agreement with the district, effective as of Monday, Nov. 8. A Long Island high school has switched to remote learning due to new cases of COVID-19. Babylon Junior-Senior High School has pivoted to full remote instruction for Thursday, Nov. 19, and Friday, Nov. 20. A new positive case of COVID-19 has been reported at a Long Island School District. The Babylon School District was notified on Friday, Sept. 18 that an individual at Babylon Junior-Senior High School has tested positive for COVID, Superintendent Linda Rozzi said in an email to the school community.
