Democrats on Long Island successfully flipped a red seat to blue. In New York’s 4th congressional district race, Democrat Laura Gillen ousted incumbent Republican Rep. Anthony D'Esposito, according to the state Board of Elections. Gillen was leading D'Esposito by a margin of 49 to 47 percent with all precincts reporting as of Thursday, Nov. 7. A New York attorney has admitted to running a scheme to defraud victims of nearly $6,000,000. Long Island resident Daniel Boldi, age 49, of Garden City acted as settlement agent and bank attorney in multiple property sales on Long Island and embezzled millions of dollars of his clients’ escrow and home loan funds, according to Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Long Island Attorney Admits To Scheme To Defraud Woman, Must Pay $1M In Restitution
A Long Island attorney admitted to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud in connection with a scheme to defraud the beneficiary of an estate from her inheritance from a wrongful death suit. Vincent J. Trimarco, Jr., of Smithtown, who has been licensed to practice in the state of New York since 1997, pleaded guilty at federal court in Central Islip on Tuesday, Oct. 6. When sentenced, the 51-year-old Trimarco faces up to 20 years in prison.
