New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has signed new legislation into law that will protect the LGBTQ+ community and gender pronouns. A Long Island gas station owner is facing charges for allegedly exploiting employees and threatening to alert immigration authorities about their illegal status to keep them from reporting him, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office announced. West Hempstead resident Jernail Singh, the owner of MH One Enterprises, which operates the Sunoco gas station on Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood, was arrested this week for a series of alleged violations of labor laws. Long Island Man Accused Of Smuggling Vietnamese Nationals To Work At Nail Salons
A Long Island man is facing charges for allegedly smuggling Vietnamese nationals into the country to work on the cheap at nail salons he and a co-conspirator operated in New York. Hicksville resident Manh Ngoc Nguyen and Bronx resident Dat Tat Ho were charged in federal court in Central Islip for allegedly conspiring to defraud the government and smuggling illegal aliens into the country.
