Man Indicted For Murder After Fatal Shooting During Old Bethpage Park Robbery
A man was indicted for murder in a July 6 fatal shooting during a robbery in an Old Bethpage park.
Brandon Torres, 22, of Staten Island was arraigned Friday, Aug. 2 and charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second-degree robbery, according to Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas.
Torres was remanded and is due back in court on Friday, Sept. 6. If convicted of the top count, he faces 25 years to life in prison.

Four more suspects were taken into police custody for their alleged roles in a botched armed robbery that left a 22-year-old man dead in Old Bethpage over the weekend.
Queens resident Stefan Pierre, 22, suffered a gunshot wound in the abdomen shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 6 in Old Bethpage. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
