The incident happened around 5:10 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in Brookville. According to Nassau County Police, a 28-year-old man was operating a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Cedar Swamp Road when he struck a 2000 Hino Dump Truck being operated by a 55-year-old man who was traveling westbound on Hemlock Drive turning onto Cedar Swamp Road.  The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by a Jericho Fire Department Paramedic. The Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad said the fire took place around 1:20 a.m., on Thursday, July 2, in Westbury. Woman Found Dead After House Fire Breaks Out On Long Island A woman was found dead after a house fire broke out on Long Island. It happened just after 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 in Plainview on Audrey Avenue.  After the fire was knocked down, the body of the 65-year-old woman was found in an upstairs bedroom, Nassau County Police said. The Plainview Fire Department, with the assistance of Jericho, Syosset and Bethpage Fire Departments extinguished the fire.  The cause of the fire has yet to be determined but it appears to non-criminal in nature, police said.  The investigation is continuing.
