A Long Island man was arrested after failing to stop for plainclothes detectives at a Long Island Railroad station for having an open container of alcohol.
The incident took place around 7:25 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, when Robert Collazo, 26, of Valley Stream, refused to stop for police in Island Park, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, plainclothes officers observed Collazoat at the Long Island Railroad, Island Park Train Station, with an open container of an alcoholic beverage.

Police Asking For Information Regarding Attempted Burglary At Long Island Jewelry Store
Police are asking the public for help with information regarding an attempted burglary at a Long Island business.
Nassau County Police said the attempted burglary took place at Saatchi Jewelry, around 2 p.m. between Tuesday, Oct. 27, and Tuesday, Nov. 3, in Island Park.
According to detectives, officers responded to 4547 Austin Blvd. for the report of a burglary. After an investigation, it was determined that an unknown suspect entered the vacant commercial store through a hole in the roof.

Covid-19: Long Island Sees Slight Uptick In Cases, Here's Breakdown By Towns
Long Island has seen a slight uptick in positive COVID-19 cases though statewide numbers continue trending in the right direction.
There have now been 44,924 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nassau, and 45,006 in Suffolk as each county saw less than 100 new cases in the latest numbers provided by the state Department of Health.
There have been 2,198 COVID-19 fatalities in Nassau and 2,005 in Suffolk.
On Long Island, the positive infection rate over the past three days:
Monday, Aug. 31: 1.0 percent;
Tuesday, Sept. 1: 0.8 percent;
Wednesday, Sept. 2: 1.1 percent.

Long Island Woman Throws Rock Into Window Of School, Runs Through Hallways, Police Say
A 20-year-old Long Island woman was arrested after allegedly throwing a rock through a window to break into an area elementary school.
Maria Campione, of Island Park, was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 1, after the Hewlett Fire Department responded to Hewlett Elementary School on Broadway for a false alarm, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, Campione allegedly used a rock to break the front door window of the school, then entered the building and was observed by a school employee on surveillance cameras running through the hallways.
