11-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Hit-Run Long Island Crash An 11-year-old on Long Island suffered serious injuries after being struck by a woman driving a pickup truck, police said. The boy was riding his scooter at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Eastgate Road in Massapequa on Sunday, Aug. 2 when he was struck by a woman driving an older model two-door red pickup truck. Police said that the driver then fled the scene and was last seen traveling northbound on Eastgate Road.
