Police Seize 1,500 Fireworks from Bay Shore Warehouse Police on Long Island seized more than 1,500 fireworks from a shipping facility on Long Island. The incident occurred in Bay Shore on Monday, June 17. Suffolk County Police said the Third Precinct received a tip regarding the fireworks. Crime Section officers responded to the warehouse, the location of which is not being released due to an ongoing investigation, and found a shipment of illegal fireworks to be shipped to a business in Suffolk County later, the department said. Dollar Store Employee Selling Hundreds Of Fireworks Nabbed On Long Island: Police A worker at a 99-cent store on Long Island was arrested after police allegedly caught him trying to sell hundreds of illegal fireworks. At approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, Nassau County Police conducted their investigation into the Uniondale 99 Cents Dollar Discount Store located at 1054 Jerusalem Avenue. Near the cashier, police reportedly noticed several boxes full of fireworks for sale. In total, authorities recovered 486 fireworks from the store. Two Long Island Women Accused Of Selling Illegal Fireworks Two women have been accused of selling illegal fireworks at a Long Island store. Responding to community complaints, Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers responded to Smokes R Us, located in Mastic at 194 Poospatuck Lane just before 2 p.m. Friday, June 3 where they saw signs on the door that fireworks were for sale. After further investigation, police found 250 cases of fireworks on the shelves and in storage, police added.  The fireworks are valued at more than $100,000, according to police.
