An NYPD officer from Long Island is accused of saving dozens of images depicting child sex abuse on his cell phone. Steven Marksberry, age 50, of Lake Grove, was arraigned on a 119-count indictment in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, July 6. Scam Alert: iPhone Users Warned Not To Answer This Type Of Call
Scammers are running a sophisticated scheme warning iPhone users that there has been suspicious activity on their iCloud accounts. The new scam involves fraudsters making phony calls posing as Apple support staff. The calls look authentic because an actual Apple support number from a local Apple number and Apple logo will display on the screen.
