'Get Ready For A Winter Wonderland': Old Farmer's Almanac Releases 2023-24 Forecast
The mild winter of 2022-23 may become a distant memory with more typical conditions expected in 2023-24, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac.
"The 2024 Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts snow, seasonable cold, and all of winter’s delights," states the publication, which has been making long-term weather forecasts since 1792. "This winter’s forecast is sure to excite snow bunnies and sweater lovers alike, promising a whole lot of cold and snow across North America."

Storm Watch: Fast-Moving System Brings Rain, Sleet, With Up To Foot Of Snow Farther North
A complex storm is bringing rain to much of the region, with sleet farther inland, and as much as a foot of snow in some spots in upstate New York and northern New England.
The storm, which arrived late Sunday afternoon, Jan. 22, has continued into Monday morning, Jan. 23.
The storm is expected to wind down late in the morning or around midday on Monday, with skies gradually clearing on a brisk and breezy day with a high temperature in the upper 30s to low 40s, according to the National Weather Service.

Man Drove Drunk At BAC Twice Limit In Westchester, Police Say
A Long Island man was driving with a blood alcohol content nearly triple the legal limit on I-95 in Westchester when he was busted for impaired driving by New York State Police troopers.
Troopers stopped Freeport resident Yecson Morales, age 39, shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 21, police said, for a vehicle and traffic violation on I-95 in Mamaroneck.

Woman With Suspended License Had BAC Twice Limit In Westchester Stop, Police Say
A Long Island woman was arrested for allegedly driving drunk at more than twice the legal limit.
New York State Police stopped Natalia J. Dominguez, 21, of Brentwood, on 1-95 for vehicle and traffic violations around 7:50 p.m., Friday, June 12, in the city of New Rochelle, said Trooper Tara L. McCormick said.
During the stop, troopers found that Dominguez had a suspended license was allegedly intoxicated, McCormick said.
Dominguez was arrested and transported to headquarters in New Rochelle where her blood alcohol content was determined to be .18 percent, said McCormick.
