New York is well-represented in brand-new rankings of the best high schools in New York. The first four in Niche's 2025 selections are all from New York City: Stuyvesant in Manhattan, the Bronx High School of Science, Staten Island Technical High School, and Townsend Harris High School in Queens. Led by a strong showing downstate, New York is well-represented on U.S. News & World Report's brand-new rankings of the nation's best high schools. The rankings were released on Tuesday, Aug. 29. When it comes to getting a quality education, several New York schools are a cut above the rest, according to the community and school ranking site Niche. After a new hotspot of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases cropped up following a graduation ceremony, a in Northern Westchester town is considering a new law requiring face masks in public. In an effort to help curtail the spread of COVID-19, town officials in New Castle are mulling a potential new law that would make wearing face masks mandatory on both public and private property for anyone who cannot socially distance from others.
