Long Island Man Arrested After Probation Visit Uncovers Drugs, Loaded Gun: Police
A probation visit turned into a significant arrest when police found drugs, cash, and a loaded handgun at a Long Island home.
According to Nassau County Police, the incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 8 p.m., when officers were assisting Nassau County Probation with a visit to an East Meadow residence and discovered Benjamin Ramirez Munoz, age 22, of Westbury, living there illegally and violating the terms of his probation.
A further investigation revealed cocaine, heroin, cash, and a loaded .38 caliber handgun inside the home, police said. Munoz was arrested without incident.

A Long Island man has been charged for reportedly selling heroin, cocaine, oxycodone, and fentanyl, leading to at least one overdose death.
The indictment against Ryan Mueller of Lynbrook was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office Eastern District of New York on Thursday, April 4.
Over the last few years, Mueller, age 32, is accused of conspiring with several other unnamed people to distribute controlled substances like heroin and cocaine.
According to the USAO, Mueller’s conspiring is related to the December 2022 death of a 49-year-old victim.

What began as a normal traffic stop has now landed a Long Island man behind bars for a decade.
Lindenhurst resident David Marmol, aged 41, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday, July 11 for his possession of a number of illicit substances, as well as a metal knuckle knife, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney.

Jaquan Casserly, age 34, of Holbrook, was arraigned in Suffolk County Court Friday, Jan. 27, months after allegedly selling fentanyl to a Lake Grove woman who later died, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Jamil Dabson, age 36, and Violet Speller, age 30, both of Far Rockaway, were arrested Thursday, Nov. 3, following a narcotics investigation by Nassau County Police.

A Long Island man was sentenced for distributing the fentanyl-laced heroin that caused the death of a 21-year-old woman in 2020.
Donta Riddick, age 35, of West Babylon, was sentenced to 16-and-a-half years in prison on Tuesday, Sept. 13, for possessing and distributing heroin and fentanyl, according to Breon Peace, United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
In his guilty plea on Jan. 28, Riddick admitted to distributing the drugs on Sept. 13, 2020, that killed a Massapequa woman.
