Man Accused In String Of Bank Robberies On Long Island Dating Back Years
A Long Island man is accused in a string of bank robberies dating back years.
Nassau County Police arrested Joseph Dumpson, age 32, of Farmingville, early Wednesday, Nov. 27, in connection with three bank robberies that occurred in Nassau County in 2020.
According to police, Dumpson was behind the following robberies:

Serial Siphoner: Man Steals Cooking Oil Dozens Of Times Across Long Island, Police Say
A Queens man has been arrested after police said he stole cooking oil from multiple businesses on Long Island.
Rabindra Singh, age 47, was nabbed in connection to a series of cooking oil thefts, the Nassau County Police announced on Monday, May 6.
His arrest comes after Singh, who is from Queens, allegedly was caught at Frantoni’s Pizzeria, located at 1928 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, using a power pump and blue hose to siphon cooking oil into his 2012 Ford Econoline van.
Singh was arrested at the scene with no incidents.

A man has been arrested for allegedly committing at least seven burglaries on Long Island.
Scott Gilmor, age 45, of Hicksville, was arrested by Nassau County Police in Hempstead on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
According to detectives, a thorough investigation determined that Gilmor was responsible for multiple burglaries that occurred in Nassau County on the following dates:

ID Released For Man Struck, Killed By Car On Long Island Roadway
The identity has been released of a man who was killed after being struck by a car on a Long Island roadway.
The incident happened around 10 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13, in East Meadow.
A 34-year-old man was driving a 2000 Honda westbound on Hempstead Turnpike in the vicinity of Merrick Avenue and struck the man walking on the roadway, Nassau County Police said.
The man, now identified as Rolando Lopez, age 35, of East Meadow, suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
Man Forcibly Touched Women At Three Long Island Walmarts, Police Say
A Long Island man forcibly touched three women in separate incidents at area Walmarts, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of a 27-year-old woman being forcibly touched at the Walmart located at 1220 Old Country Road in Westbury, on Friday, July 30, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
NCPD said officers searched the area but couldn't find the suspect. After further investigation, Benjamin Francis, age 32, of Uniondale, was identified as the suspect and arrested at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, police said.

Long Island Man Nabbed After Attempting To Rob Chase Bank, Police Say
A suspect was nabbed shortly after an attempted bank robbery on Long Island, according to police.
Mathew Matteo, age 28, of Lynbrook, attempted to rob the Chase Bank, located in East Meadow, at 2469 Hempstead Turnpike, around 1:40 p.m. Saturday, May 8, Nassau County Police said.
Matteo entered the bank, presented a demand note, and verbally demanded money from a bank teller, according to police.
Employees of the bank were able to call 911 and managed to pull the silent alarm while Matteo was still inside the bank, police said.

A suspect is in police custody after a victim was stabbed during a dispute at a Long Island motel, according to authorities.
The incident happened just before 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19 in East Meadow.
According to detectives, Jose Gonzalez, age 29, of East Meadow, while staying in room 82 with others at the Coliseum Motor Inn, 1650 Hempstead Turnpike, became involved in a verbal dispute with another man, Nassau County Police said.

Five teenagers were tracked down by police after using a variety of weapons during an armed robbery of four BMX bicycles on Long Island.
Four teenagers - ages 14, 15, 15, and 16 - were approached by five men wearing masks shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday, July 13 on East Meadow Avenue in East Meadow, Nassau County Police said.
