ID Released For Man Struck, Killed By Car On Long Island Roadway The identity has been released of a man who was killed after being struck by a car on a Long Island roadway. The incident happened around 10 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13, in East Meadow. A 34-year-old man was driving a 2000 Honda westbound on Hempstead Turnpike in the vicinity of Merrick Avenue and struck the man walking on the roadway,  Nassau County Police said.
