Car Split In Half During DWI Crash On Long Island: Police Two people were seriously injured in a suspected Long Island DWI crash that left the driver’s car in pieces, police said. The crash happened just after 4 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. According to Nassau County Police, 28-year-old Hakeem Matheus of Freeport was driving east down West Sunrise Highway in a black Toyota Camry with a 27-year-old passenger.
