Hit-Run Driver Charged In Death Of Patchogue Firefighter: DA Prosecutors have formally charged a Long Island woman accused of leaving a volunteer firefighter for dead following a car crash. Maria Guallpa-Bonilla, age 36, of Bellport, was indicted on a count of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting in Suffolk County Court Thursday, July 18, in the death of Christopher Hlavaty. The 22-year-old died Monday night, June 10, after his motorcycle was struck by a car in Patchogue, near Main Street and Rider Avenue, according to police. Arrest Made In Hit-Run Death Of Christopher Hlavaty Days after a beloved Long Island firefighter and aspiring EMT was killed in a hit-and-run crash, police have a suspect in custody. Christopher Hlavaty, age 22, of East Patchogue, died Monday night, June 10, after his motorcycle was struck by a car near Main Street and Rider Avenue in Patchogue, according to Suffolk County Police. Hlavaty was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. ID Released For Long Island Cemetery Worker Killed In Accident Police detectives investigating the death of a cemetery employee who was killed while working in a grave have released the victim's identity. Rodwin Allicock, age 42, of Coram, was at the bottom of a grave, which was more than 7 feet deep when the incident happened at Washington Memorial Park in Mount Sinai when the grave collapsed at approximately 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, said the Suffolk County Police.
