Man Who Traveled Across NY To Kill Ex-Wife's Partner Apprehended, Police Say
A man was apprehended in the region after authorities say he traveled hundreds of miles across New York to murder his ex-wife's partner.
State Police troopers responded to a Columbia County 911 broadcast about the suspect on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The suspect, Andrew J. Case, age 41, of West Seneca, in Erie County, was located and arrested on Route 9 in the Columbia County town of Greenport, according to police.
An investigation determined he was en route to Westchester County with three shotguns, police said.

A Long Island man is facing years in prison after admitting that he stole a car with a sleeping toddler inside and then crashed into a guardrail while under the influence of alcohol.
Paul Ludeman, age 56, of Holtsville, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including endangering the welfare of a child, in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, April 25, stemming from the February 2023 incident.
According to the Suffolk County DA’s Office, Ludeman was drunk on Feb. 14, 2023 when he stole the vehicle, which had a 14-month-old child sleeping inside, and drove away in Greenport.

A 20-year-old Long Island woman was charged with DWI after she allegedly left the roadway and struck a bicyclist before crashing on Easter Day.
Alexis Hubbard, of Greenport, was arrested around 2 p.m., Sunday, April 4, at the scene of the crash on Route 48 near Albertson Lane, in Southhold, said the Southhold Police.
Hubbard was traveling westbound on Route 48 in a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country when she left the roadway striking a bicyclist, she then accelerated forward striking another vehicle before hitting an embankment and overturning, police said.

A Long Island man was arrested for allegedly punching a police officer in the head during a domestic incident.
Thomas Hilton, age 54, of Greenport, was arrested around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, in Greenport, said the Southold Police Department.
According to police, Southold Police received a 911 call from a woman requesting assistance with her boyfriend.
When police arrived, they were talking with the woman when she became uncooperative with the officers and refused to allow them to speak with Hilton, police said.

A longtime town employee on Long Island is facing federal charges for allegedly distributing child pornography, according to multiple reports.
Damon Rallis, age 46, a Southold Town employee and Boy Scout leader in Greenport who was once a candidate for town supervisor was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 23, on a child porn charge, according to the Suffolk Times.
Rallis, a town building permits examiner, was scheduled to be arraigned in Central Islip.

Two people were arrested following a single-vehicle crash on Long Island -- one for DWI and the other for spitting in a police officer's face during their arrest.
