Occupants Escape From Burning Laurel Hollow Home, Police Say The three occupants of a Long Island home were able to escape without injuries when a fire broke out. Emergency responders raced to the scene  in Laurel Hollow on The Laneat about 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, the Nassau County Police Department said. When the responders arrived, the home was engulfed in flames. Sea Cliff, Roslyn, and Glenwood fire departments, along with others, dispatched more than 150 members to extinguish the blaze, according to the report. Long Island Man Killed After BMW Crashes Into Building, Bursts Into Flames A Long Island man was killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash overnight. It happened on Saturday, April 4 at about 6:30 p.m. in Greenvale. Nassau County Police officers responded to a radio assignment of a vehicle into a building at 1 Bryant Ave.  Upon arrival, they discovered a 2018 BMW engulfed in flames. Glenwood Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the fire. The driver of the vehicle, Andrew Daniels, 49, of East Hills, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County Medic. Officers Use Narcan To Rescue 23-Year-Old Long Island Overdose Victim Some fast-acting first responders in Nassau County may have saved the life of a 23-year-old Long Island man suffering from a potentially fatal overdose. Officers from the Nassau County Police Department’s Sixth Precinct responded to a Meadow Lane residence at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 in Glen Head, where there was a report of a possible drug overdose.
