New Yorkers searching for the sweet life need look no further than this Long Island locale, according to a new ranking from Money magazine.
On its list of the 50 best places to live in the United States, Glen Cove on Nassau County’s North Shore was ranked No. 37, the only New York locale to make the cut.
To come up with its ranking, Money looked at several factors that matter most to people, including cost of living, diversity, economic opportunity, and education.

Long Island Hit-Run Driver Apprehended After Crash Injures 8-Year-Old, Police Say
A hit-and-run driver who allegedly injured an 8-year-old was nabbed by police on Long Island.
The incident took place in Greenvale around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 on Maple Street.
According to detectives, the boy was riding his bicycle off of the sidewalk into the street when he was struck by a red-colored 1997 Dodge Dakota.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, police said.
Following an investigation, the driver, identified as Jose Guzman, age 48, of Glen Cove, was charged with the crime on Wednesday, Oct. 12, police said.

Long Island Crossing Guard Hit By SUV Critically Injured, Police Say
A Long Island crossing guard is in critical condition after being hit by an SUV while at work.
The incident took place in Glen Cove around 9 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 on Dosoris Lane.
According to Lt. John Nagle, of the Glen Cove Police, crossing guard Carlos Vasquez, age 58, was actively crossing pedestrians at the school crossing on Dosoris Lane at the intersection with Maple Avenue at the time of the accident.
Vasquez, of Glen Cove, was struck by a sport utility vehicle that was traveling southbound on Dosoris Lane, police said.

Arrest Made In Mansion Shooting During Party At Long Island Hotel
A hip-hop artist who is signed with Def Jam Recordings has been arrested in connection with the shooting of three people at a Long Island hotel.
Remy Marshall, age 26, of Brooklyn, turned himself in to Glen Cove Police on Thursday, July 21, with the help of the NYPD, said Glen Cove Lt. Det. John Nagle.
Marshall, who performs under the name "Fetty Luciano", was wanted in connection with the Sunday, July 10 shooting at the Glen Cove Mansion that left three people injured, Nagle said.
