Firefighters Battling Gas-Fueled House Fire On Long Island (

Multiple agencies responded to a residential fire on Long Island Wednesday evening, Dec. 4. Emergency crews were called to the six-bedroom Port Washington home, located on Charles Avenue south of Harbor Road, shortly before 7 p.m. Crews arrived to find the 2,200-square-foot, three-story house fully engulfed in flames, believed to be fueled by gas, according to preliminary radio traffic. Car Crashes Into Utility Pole, Causing Gas Leak, Knocking Out Power In Community On Long Island
Some Long Island residents were forced from their homes after a car crashed into a utility pole, causing a gas leak and power outages overnight. Nassau County Police officers, while on routine patrol, discovered the single-vehicle crash in Bethpage involving a gray 2020 Subaru Rx, which struck a utility pole at Central Avenue and Hicksville Road around 1 a.m. Tuesday, June 29. One Person Injured After Car Slams Into Long Island Home
One person was injured after a car plowed into a Long Island home. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Tuesday, at 1 Doone Drive, in Syosset, said the Nassau County Police. When the vehicle hit the building, it severed the gas line, police said. Firefighters were able to turn off the gas until National Grid arrived on the scene to fix the line. The person injured received minor injures, but was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police added.

Gas Leak Leads To Long Island Road Closure, Evacuation Of Homes
A gas leak is causing the closure of a busy Long Island roadway and the evacuation of some homes in the area. The closure, announced just after 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, is in East Islip on Main Street from Carleton Avenue to William Avenue due to the leak in front of the American Legion, located at 3 Bayview Ave., Suffolk County Police said.
