Thief Makes Off With $66K Watch From Long Island Jeweler, Police Say A suspected luxury watch thief was nabbed months after allegedly swindling a Long Island jeweler. The theft occurred in Garden City, at the Gross Jewelers on Franklin Avenue, at around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, July 18. Nassau County Police said a man requested to look at multiple Rolex watches. As the salesperson was showing the merchandise with the display drawer open, the man distracted him and removed a watch valued at $66,750.
