Barricaded Suspect Apprehended After Hours-Long Standoff, Southampton Machete Stabbing A barricaded suspect was apprehended following an hours-long standout after he allegedly stabbed another man with a machete. Just before 3:10 p.m. on Friday, April 19 officers responded to a residence in Riverside after receiving a 911 call reporting a man was assaulting another man with machete, according to Southampton Town Police Detective Sgt. Lisa Costa. Upon arrival, police found a 24-year-old man covered in blood suffering from a head wound. Police tended to his wound until Flanders Ambulance arrived and transported him to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. …

Man Killed In Hit-Run Long Island Crash, Police Say A man was hit and killed while walking near a busy Long Island roadway. David Humberto-Amaya, age 33, address unknown, was hit around 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13 on Flanders Road in Southhampton. According to Lt. Suan Ralph, of the Southampton Police, officers responded to the area after receiving numerous 911 calls for a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Long Man Injured After Being Pinned Under Vehicle A Long Island man was injured after he became trapped under a vehicle at a salvage yard. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, in Suffolk County when Southampton Town Police Department responded to the salvage yard in Flanders. Prior to police arrival employees removed Michael Mujsce, age 74, from underneath the front end of a dismantled vehicle, police said.  Mujsce suffered minor injuries and was transported to Stony Brook Hospital via Flanders Ambulance for medical treatment.
