Barricaded Suspect Apprehended After Hours-Long Standoff, Southampton Machete Stabbing
A barricaded suspect was apprehended following an hours-long standout after he allegedly stabbed another man with a machete. Just before 3:10 p.m. on Friday, April 19 officers responded to a residence in Riverside after receiving a 911 call reporting a man was assaulting another man with machete, according to Southampton Town Police Detective Sgt. Lisa Costa. Upon arrival, police found a 24-year-old man covered in blood suffering from a head wound. Police tended to his wound until Flanders Ambulance arrived and transported him to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. …

Man Killed In Hit-Run Long Island Crash, Police Say
A man was hit and killed while walking near a busy Long Island roadway. David Humberto-Amaya, age 33, address unknown, was hit around 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13 on Flanders Road in Southhampton. According to Lt. Suan Ralph, of the Southampton Police, officers responded to the area after receiving numerous 911 calls for a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Long Man Injured After Being Pinned Under Vehicle
A Long Island man was injured after he became trapped under a vehicle at a salvage yard. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, in Suffolk County when Southampton Town Police Department responded to the salvage yard in Flanders. Prior to police arrival employees removed Michael Mujsce, age 74, from underneath the front end of a dismantled vehicle, police said. Mujsce suffered minor injuries and was transported to Stony Brook Hospital via Flanders Ambulance for medical treatment.

Woman Killed, Alleged Drunk Driver Seriously Injured After Long Island SUV Crash
A woman was killed and a man who was allegedly driving drunk was seriously injured when an SUV crashed into a pole overnight on Long Island, police said. It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 in Southampton on County Road 51 just south of Suffolk Community College in the southbound lane. Responding officers located the 2011 Nissan Pathfinder that had crashed into a metal pole with two occupants in the vehicle, Lt. Susan C. Ralph of the Southampton Town Police Department said. Violent Long Island Armed Home Invasion Ends With Four Injured
A violent home invasion at a Long Island apartment ended with four people injured. The incident took place around 316 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Doctors Path Apartment complex in Riverhead, said the Riverhead Police department. Police said that after receiving a report of a shooting at the complex officers responded and located several people around the area of suffering from various injuries.
