Clerk Steals $125K Worth Of Jewelry From Customers Of Long Island Business, Police Say
An employee at a Long Island jewelry store is accused of stealing over $100,000 worth of jewelry from customers over a three-year period.
Laura Bee, age 59, of Lake Grove, was arrested Tuesday, July 25, for allegedly stealing from clients of Ever Love Jewelers, located in Huntington on New York Avenue.
According to Suffolk County Police, between September 2019 and December 2022 Bee stole over $125,000 in jewelry from seven clients.

Sobriety Checkpoint: 3 Charged During Overnight Detail In Port Jefferson Station
Three people are facing charges after an overnight sobriety checkpoint at the start of the July 4th holiday on Long Island.
Authorities conducted the operation in Port Jefferson Station at the corner of Route 112, at Hallock Avenue, from 11:40 p.m. Friday, June 30 until 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1.
A total of 414 vehicles went through the checkpoint, Suffolk Couty Police said.
The following were charged with driving while intoxicated:

Burglary Spree: Long Island Man Accused Of 7 Heists In Past Month
A Long Island man has been charged with burglarizing seven businesses over the past month.
Kenneth Eckoff, age 70, of Mastic Beach, was identified as the man who committed multiple burglaries between Monday, May 22, and Sunday, June 25, said Suffolk County Police.
During each burglary, Eckoff removed the front door glass and stole money from registers, police said.
Eckoff, who was located by detectives on Pine Street in Selden on Tuesday, June 27 burglarized the following locations:

False Claims Of Gunmen Lead To Long Island Woman's Arrest, Officer Accident: Police
A Long Island woman has been arrested for falsely reporting that there were gunmen inside her home, authorities said.
On Friday, June 16 at approximately 2:20 p.m., Suffolk County Police received a 911 call from West Islip resident Melissa O’Brien, aged 32, with reports that two men with guns were inside her Gladstone Avenue home.
Officers reported to the scene, where O’Brien again stated that there were armed men in her house, causing the responding officers to surround the home.

Drug Lab: Owner Busted Making Meth At Long Island Business, Police Say
A Long Island business owner is accused of operating a methamphetamine laboratory in the same building that houses his company.
Suffolk County Police officers were initially called at around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, with reports of a burglary at the Quantitative Laboratories, located in Ronkonkoma on Pond Road.
While searching the building for suspects, officers uncovered chemicals and equipment consistent with a methamphetamine operation, police said.
Investigators also reported finding solid and liquid methamphetamine, along with ketamine, cocaine, and $40,000 in cash.

Six employees are facing charges after allegedly selling restricted products to minors at Long Island businesses.
All six workers were arrested during compliance checks that were conducted at several Suffolk County businesses on Tuesday, May 30, according to Suffolk County Police.
